Yandex, Lanit, Gigabyte, VTB to invest 1 bln rbl in server plant

MOSCOW, Oct 6 (PRIME) -- A joint venture of  Internet company Yandex, group of companies Lanit, computers maker Gigabyte, and VTB Bank will build a plant to manufacture servers near the city of Ryazan in Central Russia with investment at the first stage exceeding 1 billion rubles, Yandex said on Wednesday in a statement.

The plant will produce servers, data storage systems, gateway devices, and components of smart devices under trademark Openyard. Yandex said the servers will be designed with the use of the company’s developments and technologies.

Start-up works will begin in July–September 2022, and the first server will be produced by the end of 2022.
